More on the OJ foster care situation from a Rabbi in the Troy area

Rabbi Deborah Gordon of Troy, NJ, once a foster parent and now an adoptive parent to four children wrote about the Silver case and took some issue about how she was portrayed by The Jewish World. She also felt the need to defend herself against the words spoken about her by Modechai Biser, attorney for Agudah. Rabbi Gordon and her partner were the only Jewish foster parents in the area. They are now a closed home. They offered guidance and advice to the System that went to her for help!

The Jewish World ought to be ashamed for its unapologetic slant and its poor research and understanding of the System.

To read it all in the Rabbi's words, click here. The rabbi is referring to the first article in the series that appeared in the Jewish World in February.

Simply more proof that ultra orthodox organizations are bigoted and their spokespersons and rabbis ignorant of how the real world operates.

Anon, I don't like to make generalizations like that, or at least not to that extent, but in this case, that seems to be the case.

I made the comment after many years of dealing with them. I don't say things like this lightly.
